My man - My world

The only man in the world
That means more than the world itself
I stand here, like a ricochet
Been hit, but unwilling to fall.

Are you serious? Tell me, tell me now
I will stand by you no matter what
I care not what you can give or do for me
I'm just tried of being shot

It ain't no joke when I said I fall for you
I loved you at your worst
You should know it from before
I can sure as hell love you more now
But are you willing to give it more than just a shot?

Don't test and try me
I am open as I can be
Yes, I could have chosen anybody
But, it has always been you, can't you see?

If you are doubting me for my past
It wasn't by choice
I would have stuck to you like glue
I would have even been your voice

I don't know what you are going through
I am not the one to judge
All I ask of you is to let me in
Please don't ask me to budge

You don't have to talk aloud
But don't be without saying much
I'm going all out for you
In return, be my clutch?

Miles away from my past
You walked right through
I didn't even think twice to say,
Baby, I love you!

Don't doubt it now
I am in deep waters, it's quite a sight
Let me not drown here
Let me not be the yellow traffic light.

To go back in time and imagine today
Your heart must have been heavy
Knowing you are to be betrayed
With a kiss

You had one last supper
With your chosen ones
Reminding them to remember you
Until you come

You were handed over
For nothing you did
All to fulfil your father’s will
And all they could do was stand still

Beaten and bruised, you bled
In pain you cried to the father
And you said
It is finished and breathed your last breath

Taken to a tomb near by
Wrapped in linen cloth and spice
They mourned the loss
Not realizing the greater cause

Then it happened, they rejoiced
You rose again
Reminding us everyday
We are worth the pain

O death, where is your sting?
O death, where is your victory?
O Wait, our savior is alive
He overcame the world

We’ll survive, we’ll survive

On my knees with my hands raised up
I look above and begin to cry
My God, what have I done wrong?
Desperately seeking for answers, through the phone

None could make me better
Though they tried
There was something more to this
Than what meets the eye

Your words pierced through my flesh
And I began to hear, you said
You are my daughter
Why do you fear?

The one who walks on water
Never sleeps nor slumbers
This is my promise to you
You don't need to ponder

Lo and Behold
As I do a new thing
None can comprehend
The magnitude of what I am about to send

But to whom much is given
Much is required
But, its through these afflictions
You will finally acquire

I carried you away to a land
Where you have none
For you will know it is me
When I say, it is done

Are you going through life, feeling like a reject?
Does it feel like someone else reaped your harvest?
Do you feel like you have been pushed into darkness
For helping others out?
And you ask, how is this fair?

Are you constantly judged for who you are and the choices you make?
Are you waiting for someone's approval or acceptance?
I was, and I even began to wonder, how bad this world can be?
Is there really a saviour who can hear me?

Then one day, I am shown the way
I realise, he is the way, the truth and the life.
That in his love, there is light and it shines through me, yes me!
Through him I am made new, let the world judge
I am no longer of this world
For I am made new in Christ.

My past he remembers no more, my sins wiped clean
How I look, where I come from, what I wear
Is not what he sees.
So, I don't get irked by others if that is what they see in me.
For, when in Christ, I ought to see the heart of people, just as he does.
And not judge them for their outward appearance.

If you are not accepted by someone
Pray for them, for Jesus accepts everyone,
Loves everyone and even has a plan for everyone
All you need to do is confess and surrender
And just like that, you are made new
For you are bought by his blood, paid in full
To live a life in complete joy, for his glory.

Just stop a moment, stay still
You are breathing
You are alive
Forget the world around you for just a minute
Forget your pain, forget your problems
Close your eyes, remain still
What do you see?

I see grace, I see mercy
I see where I was and I see where I am
In all my brokenness, he picked me up
He decided my birth place
He decided my birth parents
He chose me and told me I am his child.

From when I was ten years old
I sought after love and affection
I would blindly trust anyone
Who says anything nice to me
Naive, is how I would describe me
But he calls me his child.

It took me eight years after knowing Jesus
To finally give myself up
To pick up that cross and walk
I have seen rejection, I have been betrayed
I have been used and have been abused
And, I continue to see it more, now that I am his.

I'd want to give up
My ego is bruised
But a small still voice, gives me hope
Reminds me, though they reject you
You are accepted and belong to the king
Who died and rose again, what are you afraid of?

Though they reject you, you are not alone
You may be ignored, you may be a laughing stock
But he who is on the throne is faithful
You are his precious, he knows his sheep
He knows your heart, so stop and stay still
You are breathing, you are alive
And he calls you his child.
